OTB FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO SUPPORT AFGHANISTAN
After supporting the ‘Fearless Girls’ project which, through the non-profit organization Ciai, provided legal, psychological support and educational activities to Afghan girls (detained in juvenile prisons accused of committing “crimes against morality,” escaping forced marriages or other types of violence) and activating with Nove onlus the “Pink Shuttle” project, it supported the Lifeline Emergency Program, a program that provides primary assistance to 1400 ‘vulnerable’ in Kabul in the form of food and protection against the cold of the Afghan winter.
OTB Foundation was also the first Italian foundation to take up the call of UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency, which launched a worldwide fundraising campaign, financing the purchase and distribution of more than 300 tents for families forced to leave their homes and seeking shelter and protection. At the same time, it took immediate action with Nove Onlus to bring the drivers of the OTB Foundation-supported project, the “Pink Shuttle,” to safety in Italy.
On the ground, the Foundation has donated food, clothing, and computer equipment to the organizations that have taken in Afghan refugees who have arrived in our country, as well as making it possible for three young Afghans to receive scholarships from the University of Padua and found companies willing to offer the refugees a job opportunity, making placements within the group as well.
Support also continues in Afghanistan, where OTB Foundation funded the reopening of an orphanage in Kapisa.
